Afan Valley Miniatures is situated in the heart of the South Wales Valleys in a valley affectionately known as "Little Switzerland", the company itself is a one man outfit with expansion plans in the near future. I am Paul Smith , early 40's and always been working on some kind of model whether plastic since young to miniatures for the last 12 years. It is only since Jan 2011 that I have gone commercial after a period of redundancy. However the building began mid last year and so far produced some unique and different houses , they tend to be rudimentary 360 degree houses with strong emphasis on the realistic finish and range from the fae to conventional completed internally and externally. I do enjoy a really good challenge and the current model is just that a neo-gothic manor.
All are designed and built from the ground up to my own design or meeting the customers requirements and will generally include the surrounding or setting to complete the model. The sizes tend to be 1:12 but I am able to work in the smaller scales but feel the 1:12 is suited more to my style of build.
