Teresa Thompson
I have been producing hand made historical costume dolls since 1972 and in 1/12th scale since 1995, pursuing a passion for costume that began in childhood.
The dolls are all original, made entirely by myself from my own sculptures and designs. Their understated style makes them bring a scene to life without overpowering it. They are made from cloth over a wire frame, which allows them to be posed as you wish and will stand unaided. The heads are moulded to shape, with hand painted features. Please note that they are not suitable for children under 14 and are a collector's item only.
Costumes are as historically accurate as possible within the constraints of their small size. My full range covers Tudor times to present day, with figures from all walks of life - from gentry to servants - as shown on my website and in an illustrated catalogue available for £2 plus A5 S.A.E. I will also undertake commissions, with most subjects possible and a challenge hard to resist. I do however, reserve the right to reproduce dolls made to commission and they may not therefore be one of a kind. Most dolls have entered my range because someone commissioned them once.
A selection of dolls can be seen at the Miniatura Shows twice yearly at the NEC, Birmingham, or by appointment at my home.
